On Friday evening, August 28, the youth of St. Haroutune Church gathered for the parish ACYO’s annual campfire, held in a picturesque wooded setting adjacent to the Armenian Home. Over the years, the gathering has become one of the organization’s most anticipated events, bringing young people together for fellowship, faith, and celebration of their Armenian heritage.
The evening featured singing, dancing, games, and fellowship, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Alongside the social activities, the gathering also provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection and growth.
Under the leadership of Archpriest Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan and Deacon Arnold Simonyan, the youth participated in a Bible study on the theme of “Prayer.” An engaging question-and-answer session with the pastor followed, allowing the young participants to openly discuss questions of faith and spiritual life.
A highlight of the evening was the lighting of the campfire, around which the young people gathered to sing beloved Armenian songs and enjoy one another’s company. The laughter, music, and fellowship around the fire reflected the strong bonds of friendship, faith, and Armenian identity that continue to unite the parish’s youth.
The strong participation was particularly encouraging, with more than 80 young people attending the gathering. At the conclusion of the evening, many expressed their desire to become more actively involved in future ACYO activities and contribute to the life and mission of the Holy Church.
The enthusiastic response is a hopeful sign of the commitment and dedication of the younger generation. Through gatherings such as this, the ACYO continues to provide young people with opportunities to deepen their faith, strengthen friendships, embrace their Armenian heritage, and discover meaningful ways to serve the Church and community.
May the light of this campfire continue to symbolize the light of faith, fellowship, and love that shines brightly among the youth of Holy Resurrection Armenian Church.
