On April 20, an official commemoration of the Armenian Genocide took place at the California State Assembly, attended by state officials, community representatives, and clergy.
Under the direction of the Primate, the Reverend Fr. Yeghishe Khachikyan, parish priest of St. James Armenian Apostolic Church in Sacramento, participated in the session and delivered the opening prayer, calling on those present to remember the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide and to renew their commitment to justice and truth.
On the same occasion, California State Assembly Member Nick Schultz presented a resolution commemorating the Armenian Genocide, reaffirming the importance of preserving historical memory and upholding human rights.
