The Western Diocese to honor six distinguished Armenian American professionals on Saturday, December 5, 2026
Some traditions mark the season. Others become part of who we are. For twenty years, the Christmas Ball has been the second kind, a gathering where our Diocesan family comes together in the glow of Christmas.
This year, the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America proudly presents the 20th Annual Christmas Ball, “A Legacy of Light,” under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate.
It began with a simple and meaningful idea: to celebrate the spirit of Christmas by honoring the work of others. Today, that idea has grown into a family of more than 120 honorees, physicians, attorneys, educators, public servants, and leaders from every walk of life. Each is a light, and together they have built a legacy.
Yet the Christmas Ball has always offered something beyond recognition. It brings families to the same table and reunites friends who have not seen one another all year. It has a way of turning first introductions into lasting friendships, and of gathering generations under one roof to share the warmth of the season.
Reaching a 20th anniversary is a rare and meaningful achievement. It reflects the faith and generosity of a community that returns to this celebration year after year, and the steady commitment of all who have carried it forward. This anniversary invites us to give thanks for all that has been built and to celebrate the generations who will inherit it.
This milestone year, we are proud to welcome six distinguished Armenian American professionals whose dedication, leadership, and service have enriched our community:
Aram Alajajian
Anita Avedian, MS, LMFT
Roupen Avsharian, Esq.
Sarkis K. Mazmanian, Ph.D.
Dr. Souzy Ohanian
Mardik Oruncakciel
We join the entire Diocesan family in congratulating them and thanking them for the example they set for us all.
Guests are invited to arrive at 6:00 PM for cocktails and the traditional Tree Lighting, a moment that sets the tone for the evening. The program begins at 7:00 PM, followed by music and celebration with the Allen G Orchestra. Whether you are joining us for the first time or return every year, there is a place for you at the table. Bring your family, bring your friends, and come ready to make new ones.
The celebration takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Kalaydjian Hall, Arshag and Eleanor Dickranian Complex, 3325 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91504. The donation is $250 per person. Please RSVP and submit booklet sponsorships and messages by November 20 by emailing delilahlsh94@gmail.com or texting 818-742-5686. A booklet message is a lovely way to congratulate our honorees and support the Diocese.
Come share in the joy of the season, and let the light shine on for the next twenty years.
