On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Orran held its annual fundraising gala at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, bringing together supporters from across the United States and around the world in support of the organization’s humanitarian mission in Armenia.
Representing Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian attended the gala, congratulated the organizers, and conveyed the Primate’s heartfelt congratulations, blessings, and wholehearted support for Orran’s mission.
In his message, Archbishop Derderian described Orran’s work as “a beautiful expression of Christian love in action,” emphasizing its profound impact on children and families facing hardship in Armenia.
“For countless children and families in Armenia facing hardship, Orran has become a place of refuge, care, and hope,” the Primate stated. “By providing nourishment, education, guidance, and a loving environment, Orran does more than meet immediate needs. It restores dignity, nurtures dreams, and opens doors to a brighter future.”
Archbishop Derderian also commended Orran founder and director Mrs. Armine Hovannisian for her enduring commitment to the children of Armenia.
“We have personally witnessed the extraordinary dedication and compassion of Mrs. Armine Hovannisian, whose tireless commitment to the children of Armenia continues to inspire us,” Archbishop Derderian said. “Through her leadership and the devoted efforts of her team, countless young lives have been touched, reminding us that every child deserves to be loved, valued, and given the opportunity to flourish.”
The Primate expressed his gratitude to Orran’s benefactors and supporters, recognizing their generosity as an investment in both the lives of children and the future of Armenia.
“Your generosity is an investment not only in the lives of these children, but also in the future of our beloved homeland,” he said.
Concluding his message, Archbishop Derderian offered his prayers for Orran and all those dedicated to its mission. “May Orran continue to be a home of love, a source of hope, and a beacon of light,” he said.
Founded 26 years ago, Orran provides vital assistance to vulnerable children, families, and elderly individuals in Armenia, including those displaced from Syria and Artsakh. Through its programs, the organization has provided support to more than 40,000 people, offering daily hot meals, after-school care, educational assistance, and cultural activities.
