On the morning of September 3, 2026, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Nzhdeh Keshishyan, participated in the opening ceremony of the 2026–2027 academic year at Sahag-Mesrob Armenian Christian School.
Following welcoming remarks, the Primate was invited to offer his paternal message and blessing to the school community. In his remarks, Archbishop Hovnan first congratulated the school administration, faculty, and parents on the beginning of the new academic year and on the opportunity to once again embark on a year of learning and growth.
The Primate then invited all students to join together in prayer for the Sahag-Mesrob School, its students and teachers, and all those gathered for the occasion.
Following the ceremony, the students made their way to their classrooms accompanied by the lively sounds of traditional Armenian zurna and dhol music, marking the joyful beginning of a new school year.
