Primate Meets With Acyo Central Council: Youth Ministry Events Discussed

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, members of the Armenian Church Youth Organization (ACYO) Central Council visited the Headquarters of the Western Diocese, where they met with the Diocesan Primate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

Led by Youth Director the Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, the Central Council engaged in a productive meeting with the Primate, focusing on the mission and ongoing ministry of the ACYO, as well as plans for upcoming events and programs. A number of forthcoming ACYO initiatives were discussed in detail, with emphasis placed on creating meaningful opportunities for young people to deepen their connection to the Armenian Church and to one another.

Archbishop Derderian encouraged the Central Council members to remain steadfast in their mission of integrating young people more fully into the life of the Church. He emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for Worship, Service, Education, and Fellowship in Christ, rooted in the doctrines, traditions, and spiritual heritage of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The Primate expressed his appreciation for the dedication and service of the Central Council and offered his paternal encouragement as they continue to guide and inspire the youth of the Western Diocese.

The meeting concluded with a prayer, entrusting the ACYO’s ministry and future endeavors to God’s grace and guidance.
