The Diocese

For nearly a century, the Western Diocese has been shaped by the faith, sacrifice, service, and devotion of countless individuals and communities.
Behind every parish stands a story. Behind every church stands a generation that prayed, built, served, and persevered. Many of these stories have never been formally recorded, yet they form the living history of our Diocese.
As we prepare for the Centennial of the Western Diocese in 2027, the WD Media Department has launched the Centennial Oral History Project — a Diocese-wide effort to preserve the memories, experiences, and voices that have shaped our journey over the past 100 years.
Over the coming months, our team will travel throughout the Diocese, visiting parishes, recording interviews, documenting historic milestones, and capturing the stories of clergy, community leaders, longtime parishioners, and faithful servants whose contributions have helped build and strengthen our Church.
This is more than a historical project. It is an effort to preserve a legacy for future generations.
We invite you to follow this journey as we uncover the stories, memories, and moments that have shaped a century of faith.
