The Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America welcomed Glendale Unified School District'sĀ fourth-grade FLAG students from R.D. White Elementary School on May 26, 2026, and eighth-grade FLAG students from Toll Middle School on May 27, 2026, for two enriching educational field trips designed to foster a greater appreciation of Armenian history, culture, language, and Christian heritage. Accompanied by their teachers and chaperones, the students were warmly received at the Diocesan Headquarters, where they embarked on an engaging exploration of the spiritual and cultural treasures of the Armenian people. Upon entering St. Leon (Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral, the students of R.D. White Elementary School were welcomed with inspiring remarks by the Rev. Fr. Nzhdeh Keshishyan.Ā On the following day, the students of Toll Middle School were greeted by the Cathedralās Pastor, Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, who warmly welcomed the group and spoke about the rich spiritual and cultural inheritance of the Armenian Church.

The students were then led on guided tours of St. Leon (Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral, the Zorayan Museum, and the Diocesan Library by the Dioceseās Ecumenical Officer and Librarian, Mr. Hayk Madoyan, and the Dioceseās TV and Social Media Director, Mr. Vahe Sargsyan. Inside the Cathedral, students learned about the architectural design, sacred symbolism, liturgical traditions, and iconography of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The tours continued at the Zorayan Museum, where the students explored a remarkable collection of historical artifacts, ancient manuscripts, ecclesiastical treasures, coins, and cultural relics that vividly illustrated the rich legacy of the Armenian nation. The Diocesan Library provided another valuable learning opportunity, introducing students to a wealth of literary, historical, and theological resources that preserve and promote Armenian heritage.

Throughout the visits, the students displayed great curiosity and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and actively participating in discussions about Armenian history and faith. The educational excursions offered a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with authentic cultural experiences, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
