Epostle - Work in Review is Available

Clergy and delegates to the Diocesan Assembly customarily receive a bag with "goodies" including the diocese's latest books, publications and reports. This year, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, insisted that the publication, "Eposte 2025 Year in Review" be included in the bag.Ā

As the Electronic Ministry of the Western Diocese, Epostle represents the next step in expanding the ministry and Archbishop Derderian insisted that delegates be aware of this dynamic arm of the Church, which reads not only as a 2025 year in review, but a "Work in Review."

Dr. Varouj Alterbarmakian, upon reading the magazine shared his comments (excerpted): "I was very impressed by the quality of this Review and the professional peopleĀ involved in leading the EpostleĀ ministry.... and a very courageous stand by our Primate to see the power of digital outreach and support you to lead this effort... I would urge all our priests to share this ministry within their communities."

With the following letter from the Primate, the journal was distributed. Included here is the Primates appeal to participate in a $100,000 matching fund program set up by Mr. Jim Kaplan,

Dearly beloved in Christ,

There are moments in the life of the Church when we are not simply called to observe, but to respond with faith, with love, and with actions. This is one of those moments.

What began as a simple vision within the Western Diocese has become a living ministry, to share faith and educate using the latest means provided by technology. The brainchild of our charismatic priest Fr. Vazken Movsesian, Eposte’s exceptional team has cultivated multiple projects to fulfill the promise of living a Christian way of life. Through Epostle, prayers are reaching homes where no church is nearby. Teachings are guiding young and old in their search for meaning. And Armenian shrines remain open 24/7 in the virtual arena for all to enter and offer their prayers..

I invite you to look through the pages of the colorful magazine Epostle’s 2025 Year-in-Review. You’ll find how a vision has become real, with daily broadcasts, an active social media presence, experiments in the Metaverse and the forging of new virtual spaces.

A generous committedĀ $100,000 in matching funds,Ā has been made by a life-long member of our Armenian Church, Mr. Jim Kaplan, inviting us as a community of faith, to actively participate in moving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to new frontiers.

Each dollar offered will be doubled. Each act of generosity will bear twice the fruit. A gift of $100 becomes $200. A gift of $500 becomes $1,000. A gift of $1,000 becomes $2,000.

Responding together, let us unlock the $100,000 and expand Epostle’s mission in ways that will bless generations to come. This is a call to participate in the life and mission of the Armenian Church and the new challenges its faces.

I ask you to prayerfully consider your part in this sacred work of strengthening the foundations of the House of God. Give in a way that reflects your faith, your gratitude, and your commitment to ensuring that our Church continues to live, to grow, and to reach the future generations.

With prayers and blessings,

Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate
