The Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the United States, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, has graciously accepted the invitation of His Holiness Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians and, in the month of February, will participate in the Bishops' synod to be convened in Austria.
His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan stated:
“Canonically, the Bishops Assembly of the Armenian Apostolic Church is the authorized body to discuss the issues facing the church and to propose appropriate solutions. In this regard, we have also received a letter from the Mother See requesting the submission of agenda items for the Assembly. We have already responded to His Holiness Karekin II with an official letter, noting the issues proposed by us for discussion. The Assembly of Bishops is the canonical forum for the discussion and guidance of important matters pertaining to the life and mission of our Holy Church.”
We invite the faithful of our communities to pray for the success of the proceedings of the Bishops Assembly, so that, under God’s guidance, it may be blessed and be fruitful, for the glory and edification of our Holy Church and for the well-being of our Homeland.
