Statement Of Support For Our Primate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian

The Diocesan Council of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, with steadfast faith in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, fully supports our Primate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.  

We repose full trust and confidence in our Primate’s fidelity to the Armenian Apostolic Church and the spirit with which he has approached the current situation in the Church.  Through the stewardship of our Primate, our parishes have expanded and flourished over the last two decades and the lives of the faithful in our communities have been enriched in their Christian faith and Armenian heritage.

The strength of our Church is founded on maintaining a balance between spiritual authority and ecclesiastical order.  We are committed to preserving that balance and advancing the Christian mission of the Armenian Church throughout the Western United States. We pray that the issues within the Church are resolved with Christian fellowship inspired by the Holy Spirit."
