Eve of Nativity Service at St. Leon Ghevontiants Armenian Cathedral

On Monday evening, January 5, 2026, the Eve of the Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ was prayerfully observed at St. Leon (Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral. This sacred celebration holds a central place in the life of the Armenian Apostolic Church, as it proclaims the mystery of Christ’s birth and baptism as one unified feast, revealing the manifestation of God incarnate for the salvation of the world.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, pastor of the Cathedral, in the presence of hundreds of faithful who gathered in prayer and devotion. Through the hymns, Scripture readings, and solemn prayers of the service, the faithful were invited to reflect on the profound meaning of Christ’s incarnation and His revelation to humanity as the Light of the world.

At the conclusion of the service, the light symbolizing the miraculous birth of Christ was shared with the congregation. As each worshipper received the light, the Cathedral was filled with a tangible expression of hope and renewal, reminding the faithful that Christ, born in humility, continues to illumine hearts and lives with His divine presence.
