The Junior Godfather  Program is designed on the basic principle that Godfathers are guardians of the faith who are entrusted with protection of our Christian faith that has guided our nation through the chapters of history. It is the goal of the Junior Godfather Prog- ram to provide opportunity for all Armenian children and youth to bond with the church and to commit to become guardians of the faith of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. Once the child/youth becomes Junior Godfather, his/her name is etched on a fruit of the pomegranate tree carved on the wall of St. Leon Armenian Cathedral. The importance of Junior Godfathers is the chain that links them to the liturgical life of St. Leon Cathedral and the Armenian Apostolic holy Church.
