It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic loss of life caused by the devastating floods that have struck multiple counties in Texas, claiming the lives of at least 100 people, including 36 innocent children in Kerr County, Texas. As a spiritual father, I am deeply grieved by the unimaginable sorrow endured by parents who have lost their precious children. The pain of such loss defies words, yet we draw strength from our faith and the comforting embrace of our Lord. As Scripture teaches us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). May the loving arms of Christ surround each grieving soul during this time of anguish.

To support the families affected by this catastrophe, the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America has established a Humanitarian Relief Fund in partnership with the American Red Cross. I prayerfully encourage our faithful to open their hearts and extend their generosity to those in dire need. Your financial contributions will bring vital aid and a message of hope to those who are now rebuilding their lives amidst loss and devastation. Together, as Christians, we are called to bear one another’s burdens in the spirit of compassion and love.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, rest upon the people of Texas and especially the families of the departed. May the souls of the victims find eternal rest in the light of our Risen Lord.
