On February 2, 2017, the Diocesan Primate, accompanied by Diocesan benefactors Mr. Ara Abrahamyan, Dr. Aramayis Paronyan, Mr. Jack Kalaydjian and the Executive Director of the Western Diocese Dn. Harout Markarian visited Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in City Hall.

Mayor Garcetti was briefed on the upcoming pontifical visit of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians scheduled for October 2017, the official opening ceremony of the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Cutural Center on October 28 and the Pontifical celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral.

Mayor Garcetti shared his excitement with the Primate in once again welcoming the Head of the Armenian Apostolic Church to Los Angeles.
