On May 6, 2025, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian welcomed to the Diocesan Headquarters the Rev. Haroutioun Selimian, President of the Armenian Protestant Community in Syria.

Rev. Selimian was accompanied by the Rev. Hendrik Shanazarian, Minister to the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in North America and Rev. Joe Garabedian, Pastor of Armenian Evangelical Cilicia Church in Pasadena. 

During the meeting, Rev. Selimian shared with the Diocesan Primate news about the current state and activities of the Armenian Protestant community. Also taking part in the meeting was the Dn. Dr. Hratch Tchilingirian, Director of Institutional Innovation at the Western Diocese.

The Diocesan Primate expressed his gratitude to the esteemed guests for their gracious visit and wished them continued success in their ministry.
