On April 4, 2025, California State Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo paid a visit to the Headquarters of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America in Burbank. Assemblywoman Schiavo was warmly welcomed by Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude for her continued efforts to improve the lives of Californians. The Archbishop commended Schiavo for her dedication to public service and for her commitment to supporting diverse communities across the state.

Also taking part in the meeting were Deacon Harout Markarian, Executive Director of the Western Diocese, Mrs. Maria Mehranian, President of Armenia Fund, and Mr. Armond Aghakhanian, a member of the Burbank Unified School District.

The meeting served as a platform for meaningful dialogue on community development, educational advancement, and the importance of cultural preservation. Assemblywoman Schiavo reaffirmed her support for the Armenian-American community and emphasized the significance of collaboration between civic and faith-based organizations in fostering a more prosperous California.
