Published - 20 February 2025

His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, attended a counseling session at St Gregory Armenian Church of Pasadena on Tuesday, February 18th.   St. Gregory parish has partnered with Arms of Grace Hospice Service to provide professional psychologists who specialize in helping trauma survivors.

The eight week counseling sessions are offered free of charge and are open to all those impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires, both youth and adults. Arms of Grace Hospice is under the direction of Mr. Kevork Tutunjian and sessions are facilitated by Dr. Ani Karayan, Ph.D.  The group meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Geragos Hall of the church complex, located at 2215 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.

In addition to the Primate, the Honorable Congresswoman Judy Chu, representative of the district impacted by the fires, was also present.  She greeted the Primate, parish priest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, Parish Council Chairman Sarkis Nazerian and local residents who are enrolled in the program.
