The Ladies Auxiliary of the Western Diocese proudly presents the 48th Debutante Ball, an evening of grace, heritage, and family tradition. This prestigious event will take place as seventeen accomplished young women are formally presented to His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, a moment that marks their transition into a new chapter of leadership and service within the Armenian community.

Each debutante will be elegantly escorted by a young gentleman, selected by the committee for their outstanding character and achievements. Adding to the evening’s charm, two young cross bearers will take part in the presentation, symbolizing the spiritual foundation upon which this time-honored tradition stands.

The Ladies Auxiliary is honored to welcome Emmy Award-winning actor, writer, and filmmaker Michael Goorjian as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.

Mr. Goorjian’s remarkable career spans television, film, and theater, and he recently made history as the writer, director, and star of Amerikatsi, the first Armenian film submission to reach the Academy Awards Oscar shortlist for Best International Feature Film. A true storyteller at heart, Mr. Goorjian is also a published novelist, and his presence adds a special distinction to this year’s celebration.

The Debutante Ball has long been a cherished tradition, celebrating the bonds of family and Armenian heritage. Over the decades, it has become a deeply meaningful occasion, with many past debutantes and escorts now proudly presenting their own children.
