In her presentation, Jennifer Usyak addressed cultural intricacies, including etiquette and protocols for both formal and informal settings. Consul Makito Ohikata discussed the itinerary, which features exciting meetings, official visits, opportunities for cultural exchanges, and sightseeing. Consul Kumiko Nada provided insightful updates on current developments in Japan related to travel and tourism.
The orientation not only offered critical insights into Japanese culture and the planned itinerary but also heightened the delegation's excitement and enthusiasm. Delegation members eagerly asked questions, reflecting the thorough research and preparation they had undertaken over recent weeks and months. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, participants exchanged information, laughter, and refreshments.
As a reminder, the KAKEHASHI Project is a people-to-people exchange program between the U.S., Canada, and Japan. It aims to connect nations, cultures, and communities through peer-to-peer exchange, fostering mutual trust and understanding. The program also deepens participants' knowledge of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics, and diplomatic relations through networking and collaboration.
The delegation of Armenian-American young leaders will be in Japan from October 22 through October 29. Led by Diocesan Program Director Diran Avagyan, the delegation consists of the following members: Delilah Shahbazian, Ani Nalbandian, Mike Dermendjian, Nareg Ghookasian, and Candace Karasarkisian
